For the art lover, dancer, choreographer, or general intellectual in your life--Rosa Rolanda is part of my series depicting artists whose works have proven to be some of the greatest, most enduring contributions to world culture.
Born in Los Angeles, Rolanda eventually made Mexico her adoptive home and was part of the art scene that included Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, both of whom were friends. She was a dancer, a choreographer, and a surrealist painter whose works often get overshadowed by her more famous contemporaries'.
